Dobbs Laird (Co-Owner)
Dobbs Laird, co-founder of Yellowstone Wood Boat Tours, spends more days on a river each year than most people can aspire to in a lifetime. He has a lifelong passion for being on moving water – whether deep in a canyon, kayaking whitewater, or relaxing floats on Montana rivers with his family – he is happiest when behind the oars and not on dry land. Dobbs was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and officially made the West his primary home in 1999. Dobbs brings a breadth of knowledge about all things related to river systems & the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Dobbs is also involved in local Livingston businesses such as the Murray Bar, 2nd Street Bistro, and Gils Goods.
Our Guides
Julie Walker
Julie Walker is a Livingston native with more than a decade of river experience. Although she started as a raft guide, she quickly fell in love with the wood boats of YWBT. After 8 years doing marketing for the State of Montana, Julie finally moved home to Livingston and can now be found on the river just about any day of the year, whether on a boat or with her dog, Curly. Julie loves all things Montana and has extensive knowledge of both Paradise Valley and Montana’s history, having grown up in the area. A true “people person”, she says the best part of her job is “getting to show off Montana and the Yellowstone River to people from all over the world”.
